Tom Westmacott's War Diary was created by Evie his wife from his letters to her and to various other family members, plus photographs, documents, posters etc. Evie very slightly edited the letters as she transcribed them and, notably, concealed his description of the 'Bolting the Tabasco' incident.
These pages, if you like, are the 'raw material' of Major Tom's War.
Please note that pages are viewed 'as turned' - giving you a real feeling of flicking through - but all pages containing larger folded documents, newspapers for example, will soon have an individual entry posted too, in an appropriate category, showing them complete for closer inspection.
In a few images a personal name may have been obscured. This is because I have drawn on this person's actions for a composite character in Major Tom's War and I wish to avoid any undue distress to their families today.
